Ahhh. English 101/Credo 10NONE - Journal 3

Credo. What is a credo? I have searched and read credos but I am still puzzled on how to write mine.  I googled and the definition of credo is, A statement of beliefs or aims that guide someone’s actions. What is really throwing me off about the credo is that it said in lesson 4; your credo need not be religious. My life is religion. Not even necessarily religion as much as trying to live like Jesus asked us. So when I think what is my statement of beliefs that guide my actions is “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all of your soul, with all of your strength and with all of your mind, and Love your neighbor as yourself.” More than anything I want God to be pleased with me, and next to that I want to show God’s love to people through my actions. So I have a hard time separating a belief for my life and religion, because for me personally, those thing are so closely intertwined. When I googled examples of a credo, Ms. A’s website was the 2nd one that came up, which means either; she is awesome and has lots of information on credos, or that a credo really is not very common. I do wonder how this will help me in my career as a nurse. I know what guides me. Maybe this is just to help write things you aren’t comfortable writing about. I guess writing a credo requires you to think more detailed about something that you don’t write or talk about often anyways.  I am just having a much harder time with this class than I thought I would.  I want to write well, but I am confused, because I read the “freewriting” multiple times and I love that concept. But then the week after reading and writing and going by “free writing” to do so, I have an assignment to submit a self-evaluation on how my writing is. I am just thinking, clearly not very good, I am writing without spell checking or anything. I just hope this class in the long run is beneficial to me.
