The Family That Was - Journal 6

I am excited tomorrow is the 4^th of July. I have to work tonight, and tomorrow night from 11pm - 7am, but I am still excited. Normally we spend time together with my husband’s family. In November my husband’s big brother moved to Dallas Texas so he isn’t going to be here this July. My husband’s baby brother and his wife live in Branson, (which they have for years because they both graduated from C of O). Them living in Branson have never stopped them from coming to any family functions, however yesterday they closed on a house in Rogers Arkansas. So that, on the other hand will put an impact on them coming to family functions. I knew it was a matter of time. My husband’s family is not completely family oriented. We see each other on holidays and things, but when it comes to weekend BBQ’s and get together, not so much. I grew up with Aunts and Uncles always around, cousins and family things multiple times a month. But, since their father is an only child they didn’t have much of that. My sister-in-law is from Rogers and that is where her family is at. They just had a baby in December, so she wanted to be around her family where they had help if they wanted a date night. My brother in law is also a youth pastor at a church in Eureka Springs Arkansas. My husband’s grandma is so wonderful. We may go and see her tomorrow even though we are not doing a family cookout like normal. Her name is Ella Jane, and if our 2^nd son would have been a daughter her name would have been AddaLynn Jane. Lynn is my sister, mom and was my mother-in-law’s middle name and Jane is my grandmother in law’s middle name. But, we ended up with another boy and we are perfectly content with that.
